The BWN business women are tireless supporters of charity.
It never ceases to amaze us that busy business women with busy lives find the time to raise money for charities too. Not just raising money, but raising the profile of the charities so that more can be done to help more people. We love that attitude and to celebrate that we have created this page to showcase the latest endeavours of our fabulous business women members.
This page is dedicated to the lovely Stella Bradbrook. Stella was a member of our Essex BWN events since our launch in 2009.
Incredibly sadly, Stella lost her battle with Cancer April 2015 and Farleigh Hospice played a big part in her care. Stella was a genuinely brilliant networker and business woman always asking how she could help you in your business. Offering support and helping to promote what you were doing. Stella will be greatly missed and so we launch this page to honour all fabulous business women that go that extra mile.
In 2011 and 2013 The BWN created Nude Calendars and have calendar for charity front image Mandie Holgate raised over £8000 for Farleigh. Every business women that was involved with the calendars didn’t just step out of their comfort zones they jumped so far out of their comfort zones they couldn’t see it any more!
Jenny Sjollema, Owner of PA Angels, has recently done a 300ft bungee jump to raise money for
Farleigh Hospice as part of their £50 Business Challenge in Essex.
Jenny commented that she could see the crane from the M25 as they drove into Windsor Bray. “Goodness me, that looks a long way up”, her husband said.
Having done a skydive last year and winning the Most Daring Trophy, Jenny felt she had to do something equally crazy!
Our South Essex Coordinator not only jumped out of a plane for Jenny PA Angels Mud runFarleigh’s Hospice, Jenny Sjollema from PA Angels and About My Area Maldon & Chelmsford is now taking part in the Maldon Mud Run raising money for the RNLI Lifeboats.

It is a stunning bracelet and The BWN support Sarah in her aim to raise money for Farleigh’s.You can learn more about why Farleigh’s Hospice means so much to Sarah and purchase your beautiful bracelet here.
All business women that attend our events we would love to share your endeavours here on this page, and if you have already supported charities this year and are unable to financially get involved, as Julie Sawyer from Farleigh’s Hospice taught us, just being able to spread the word is greatly appreciated, so a tweet, a mention on social media or in your next newsletter would be fabulous, thank you.
